. oakland police investigating a possible homicide after a woman was found dead inside a motel room. this is the starlight motel here in oakland. you can see crime scene tape has gone up. investigators have been here collecting evidence up in that room. the 9-1-1 calls came in about an hour ago. officers arrived and found a woman inside one of the upstairs rooms and she was unresponsive. there was a man who was here trying to give cpr to that w oman. the woman was pronounced dead inside motel room. her death is suspicious. >> we have homicide investigators looking into it. they're going to go from there and make a determination. there was evidence in the room that indicative that there was something else, we're leaning towards a homicide. >> reporter: oakland police investigators out here at the scene. the starlight motel. they have been questioning some of the questions in the n eighboring rooms to determine if anyone saw anything. police not releasing an identity on the woman but saying they believe she is an oakland resident. we are live in oakland. >>> a substitute teacher has been ar

that matter on eyewitness news this morning. developing news in oakland, five people shot after someone opened fire outside of a movie theater in jack london square. >> some of the victims are at children's hospital and lisa washington has more on the investigation. >> we're standing in front of the cinema were that shooting happened less than 12 hours ago. according to oak lawn police one of the victims was in surgery late last night and the other for head injuries that were not serious. the shooting was reported around 9:20 p.m. at the regal cinemas near jack london square. three of those victims were taken to children's hospital in private cars. police found another victim in front of the theater and a fifth person was found one block away. police have not released a description of the suspect but we know that they had interviewed witnesses. the shootings were just the latest in a weekend of violence in the city of oakland. three people killed in separate incidents over a six hour time span on friday. oak lawn police arrested a 70 year-old man for shooting the 67 year-old fri

news this morning in oakland. the search for four missing children. police want to locate the kids of a 3-year-old was found in the home critically injured suffering from signs of abuse. christie smith is live at oakland's children's hospital with more. good morning, christie. >> reporter: on monday they had a report of an unresponsive little boy. paramedics were sent to a home in north oakland. that little boy was taken to a hospital here in oakland. police later determined at that his injuries were consistent with child abuse, present bus and past injuries. a sitter told police that the 3-year-old had been left alone and was found facedown in the bathtub. when first responders arrived, they found the little boy was dry with clothes on. the sitter, the stepfather and mom were arrested. now police are looking for four other children with ties to that little boy. >> we want to make sure that we can verify that they are not harmed and have not suffered any type of physical abuse such as the 3-year-old. >> reporter: the missing kids are 4-year-old paradise mahasin, 9-year-old antwan j

their north oakland home. alex savidge is joining us live from oakland children's hospital where another child living at that home is now being treated for critical injuries. alex. >> reporter: and this search all started after a three-year- old boy was rushed here to children's hospital reportedly after a near drowning. he suffered life threatening injuries. that boy was found unresponsive in a bathtub at a home on 63rd street in oakland. he was eventually revived. the boys babysitter, mother, and stepfather have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse. the search is on for the couples four other children that are missing this morning. other relatives may be hiding the kids and the other relatives are not cooperating with investigators. we want to show you the missing children. four-year-old paradise mahasin. six-year-old antwan. police have not put out a if description or photo of those children but we are told they are african american. based on the condition of the boy brought here he shows signs of current and past child abuse. police are very concerned about is his siblin

afternoon to oakland the first time as president there are three fund-raisers on tap. one is about $35,000 a person. the one that will likely attract the big crowd is at the fox theater near the uptown area of oakland where his tickets went from $100 to $7,500. protesters are expected there, including a medical marijuana advocate upset with recent federal crackdowns and bay area dispensaries. and anti-war advocates are planning a rally and march as well. mr. obama was just here in the bay area in early june. he came to san francisco, attended a couple of fund-raisers, just four hours. that was the amount of time he spent here. he brought in about $2 million during that time. now, some demonstrators are actually saying that they plan to get started near the city hall area of oakland right now and plan to rally all day and then march over to the fox theater up town when obama arrives there. mr. obama. so certainly traffic will be impacted all through the downtown oakland area, something you want to keep your eye on. and also as the motorcade moves towards sfo, and for more on how to get around
